Our history

Since 2011, ACTA has grown from a collective vision into a powerful national voice for community transport. Our journey is one of collaboration, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to ensuring that every Australian; regardless of age, ability, or location can access safe, inclusive transport. 

2011
ACTA is founded as the national peak body for community transport, bringing together representatives from every state and territory.
2015 – 2018
ACTA begins national conversation on key aged care reforms and Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) challenges to ensure sustainability and quality services for Australians.
2019
ACTA secures initial government recognition of the sector’s unique role in aged care reform and begins submitting sector-informed consultation papers.
2023 – 2024
Partners with the University of South Australia to begin co-design of the National Community Transport Pricing Model (NCTPM).
2025
Begins systematic consultation with government agencies, community transport providers, peak bodies, and consumers to support implementation and policy alignment.

Over the past year, ACTA has partnered with iMOVE to deliver the National Variable Pricing Matrix (NVPM) Pilot Project a national first for community transport and aged care. ACTA’s leadership, sector expertise, and technical capability have been instrumental in delivering this complex project to an exceptional standard.”
